Presumption

Ellet J. Waggoner

Presumption.—There are very many professed Christians who think it would be presumption for them to say, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Yet they have no hesitation in saying that they are trying to live righteously, so that they may be fit representatives of Christ. They who think it would be a presumption to allow Christ to live His own life in them by faith, are presumptuous enough to attempt to live His life for Him!
