The Two Laws
The old covenant, therefore, together with the law, which pertained to it, was never for one moment of any value whatever for pardon and salvation from sin. It was "made void" even from the beginning.

There is such a thing as being too cautious.
This quarter the lessons have promoted a worldly, political, and unsanctified practice of dividing people into classes. Nowhere in the Gospel are different groups seperated out - in fact the Scriptures state that we are all one in Christ. What a shock then to find out our church believes some people to be "BOTTOM DWELLERS" (Lesson 7). Unfortunately the editors and contributers to the quarterly seem to have ignored the Gospel to fulfill the words of Jesus "These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men" (Matt. 15:8, 9).

There is one most precious statement in the account that Luke gives of the Lord’s temptation in the wilderness.
That all people in the world stand in the same condemnation before God is difficult for many to believe, because they see such a great difference in men. But it must be remembered that it is not charged that all are equally guilty, but that all are in the same condemnation.
Judge not ...
The truth is not the value of our own promises to do and to be good; our own promises are like “ropes of sand”; they sound good and our loved ones and friends hope that they will hold. But they don’t.
