No Probation After Death

"But, it being true that the promised Messiah was known from the time of the fall, the supposition that Christ, between his crucifixion and his resurrection, went to preach the gospel to those who lived before the time of Abraham, or before the flood, amounts to nothing."  ~Ellet J. Waggoner

Saints of God

"The object of this article is not to lower anybody’s conception of sanctification, or saintship, but to elevate the conception of what it is to be a Christian."  ~Ellet J. Waggoner

Strength Instead of Weakness

"Physiologists tell us that a well-set broken bone of a healthy person becomes stronger than before it was broken. The new process which unites the part is stronger than the parts united. There is a precious thought here for those struggling against special sins."  ~Ellet J. Waggoner

The Light of Life

"Sin cannot live in the sight of God, as mould cannot live in the bright sunshine. In the light of God’s countenance is life, and that light comes to us through Jesus, the propitiation for our sins."  ~Ellet J. Waggoner

Only the Voice of God

Ellet J. Waggoner

The moral condition of the natural man is death, spiritual death. It is essential to the Christian worker to know this, so that he may not lose time in trying to talk to the dead.

Goodness Leading to Repentance

“Why is there in the hand of a fool the purchase price of wisdom, since he has no heart for it?” Proverbs 17:16. Or, of what use to offer freedom from sin to a man incapable of appreciating goodness?  ~Ellet J. Waggoner

Peace with God

The trouble with too many is that they look for peace without surrendering. They expect God to give them peace while they are still in arms against him. This is impossibility.  ~Ellet J. Waggoner

Righteousness, the Fruit of the Spirit

Ellet J. Waggoner

Since it was by the anointing of the Spirit that He accomplished all His work here on earth (See Isaiah 61:1-3), it is evident that the presence of the Spirit is the same as the presence of the Lord.

Acceptance with God

Will the Lord receive me?” I reply by another question: Will a man receive that which he has bought? If you go to the store and make a purchase, will you receive the goods when they are delivered?
