The Fruits of Righteousness

"The statement is that whoever abides in Christ brings forth much fruit; while separate from Him we can do nothing. Doing nothing is made equivalent to not bearing fruit. So then bearing fruit in the vine is identical with doing something. There is nothing more passive than the bearing of fruit; and yet there is nothing in which more intense activity is shown than in a fruitful vine or tree. The tree can do nothing to make itself bear fruit, yet the bearing of fruit is a period of activity.Ellet J. Waggoner

There’s no better way to caption the lesson than the words of inspiration. “Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper” (2 Chron. 20:20). Three men (Jeroboam the king; Ahijah, a man of God; and a false prophet) all learned this truth.  Paul E. Penno

"True obedience flows from a heart completely unified with Christ by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. At the cross, believers refuse to be assured by their own strength, but with Christ, submit their spirit to Him in faith that He will fulfill His promises to true Israel."      - Arlene Hill

Justification of Life

"People are not simply counted righteous, but actually made righteous, by the obedience of Christ, who is as righteous as He ever was, and who lives today in those who yield to Him. His ability to live in any human being is shown in the fact that he took human flesh eighteen hundred years ago. What God did in the person of the Carpenter of Nazareth, He is willing and anxious to do for every man that believes."  Ellet J. Waggoner

The Obedience of Faith

"True faith is obedience. "This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He has sent" (John 6:29)."   Ellet J. Waggoner

The Obedience of Faith

[The relationship between faith and works is often misunderstood, especially if one finds they are still approaching the Gospel with an Armianian mind set.  Ellet J. Waggoner expalins this relationship clearly and brings hope to the one that has become discouraged in all their attempts to make themselves right with God. D. Peters]

"The great characteristic of faith is, that it works. We do not mean that works are attached to it, but works come from it."
